Sugar Cookies

These are always a hit!

3 1/4 c. flour (sift before measuring)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour cream

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Sift together sifted flour, baking soda, and salt. In a mixing bowl cream together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla with electric mixer. Beat 2 minutes. Add sour cream and 1/2 of the dry ingredients, beat until blended. Stir in remaining dry ingredients with a wooden spoon. Divide dough. Roll 1/4 inch thick.
Bake 8-10 minutes.

*tips: The first couple times I made this recipe I measured the dough after I rolled it out. 1/4 inch is thicker than I thought. Also don't over bake, you shouldn't see any browning on the cookies.
